Dogs are more like people than a lot of us realize, and it is important to find a place for your dog to sleep that is specially made for him and that will keep him happy. However, sometimes no matter what kind of place you make for your dog, he will chew on it and destroy it and cause a lot of frustration. So how do you go about finding a no chew dog bed for your dog?
What Do Dogs Chew?
In order to really find a no chew dog bed for your dog you first have to look at the different types of things that dogs usually chew on. The list is pretty much endless; they will chew on wood, they will chew on wicker or straw baskets, and they will chew on plastic. The fact remains that there are many things a dog is going to chew on no matter what, and if you are finding a dog bed you might be realizing that a no chew dog bed is pretty much impossible.
The best way to curb your dog’s chewing is to first of all figure out what things he likes to chew on. You want to be sure that you are providing these things elsewhere, in toys and other things that your dog can chew. If he has plenty of other things to chew on, you might find that this is the secret to a no chew dog bed. However, if you have provided him with other things to chew on and he still tries to eat the bed, you might simply need to switch to a type of bed that he won’t chew on.
One of the best ways to do this is to have him sleep on a pillow type dog bed that only goes on the floor. You can get raised up pillows so the dog won’t be cold and will be out of the way, but it should all be made up of the pillow material so that the dog isn’t tempted to chew it. This is truly the only way to find a no chew dog bed for your dog.
