Everyone loves a well
behaved dog, and everyone can appreciate an owner who has worked extremely hard
to train their dog properly to obey him or herself in all situations. Almost every
dog can be placed into one of three categories: the dog that gets along famously
with everyone, the aggressive dog that everyone stays away from, and the dog that
is loyal to his master, plays when told, protects when necessary, and otherwise
sits patiently by his master’s side awaiting his next command.
The first
two dogs are a result of genetics and behavior, and have little to do with the
owner. The third type of dog is a result of hard work and dedication on the part
of the dog and the owner. You too can have a well behaved dog, but it takes time,
patience, and consistency for a dog to behave that way. Continue reading if you

obedience training.
Patience is a Virtue
The main thing to remember
about Shar Pei obedience training, is that it takes patience. Shar Pei training
will not happen over night, and you will have to repeat commands over and over
again. Dogs need repetition in order to train their mind and body how to react
when a command is given.
The awesome thing is, however, that once they
get it, it sticks and then it only takes simple reminders to refresh their memory
if they forget. While training a dog that seems less than enthusiastic to learn,
patience and persistence is the key. If you find yourself getting agitated, take
a break from the situation because it will only frustrate you both.
Reward
Your Puppy with Praise
Another key point is to use simple commands every
day and never change the command. As previously mentioned, dogs need consistency
when going through Shar Pei obedience training. Simple commands like ‘sit’ or
‘come’ works much better than “sit down, boy” or “come here, girl.” Use a firm,
flat, calm voice when commanding your dog, especially when beginning Shar Pei
obedience training.
Perhaps one of the most important tips for successful
Shar Pei obedience training is giving rewards. Reward your dog for his or her
good behavior immediately. This can be done with food or praise, but make it a
fairly grand gesture so the puppy knows exactly why he or she is being rewarded.
Over time, your puppy will begin to perform commands without treats, but
always respond with a “good dog” so they know you are pleased. Once you feel comfortable
with how to train your pup, begin learning about Shar
Pei potty training: your next big step to a well-trained dog.
