I would suggest contacting your local kennel club for referrals.

Well, I am not going to directly answer your question, as I dont know any UK Shar Pei Breeders. Instead, I have a few words of advice for you, as someone that currently owns 2 Shar Pei's, and had another one previously that passed away. First- you might want to check into rescues- I got all 3 of my dogs from rescues instead of a breeder. Not only does it help save a life, but my dogs came to me already housebroken, which was a nice plus. Secondly- be aware that the breed has a number of "defects", caused by the significant inbreeding that was necessary to bring the breed back from near-extinction (the Chinese Communists nearly killed all of them at one point, and the Shar Pei was called the rarest dog in the world). So Shar Pei's cost a LOT of money at the vet, and typically have short lifespans- the average shar pei lives 8-10 years. My first died from Lymphoma at age 8, my current male came down with Kidney disease at age 6, and my female has had hypothyroid since age 4, and now she is developing glaucoma at age 6. My current male also has Shar Pei skin disease which requires a very expensive shampoo, Shar Pei's have very special dietary requirements (very low protein), and they have chronic ear problems which require you to clean out their ears every other day or so. So they are a very expensive, very high maintenance pet. Lastly- the reason Shar Pei's have all the extra skin and wrinkles is because they were Chinese pit-fighting dogs- the extra skin would allow the Shar Pei, if the other dog locked on to it with its jaw, to still turn and continue to attack the other dog. So, Shar Pei's have that fighting heritage to them, and it still shows a bit in their personalities today. My male is very standoffish to new people, until he has had 5 or so minutes to smell them- we have to be very careful with him around guests. Female shar pei's are usually the dominant dog for whatever reason, and mine is no exception. She never has a problem with other people, but outside of our male shar pei, she hates other dogs, and if they get too close, she attacks. So when walking our dogs, we always have to be very, very careful.
Now- on the positive side, Shar Pei's are people dogs, and love their masters very much. They will protect their people and their homes from any invasion or attack. Great guard dogs for sure. They like to play and like to exercise, but they also love to sleep, and are very rarely obnoxious or bark a lot. Personally, I love my pei-bies and think they are great dogs, I just want to make sure that you go into getting a Pei with your eyes open of all the problems that they do have, so that another one does not end up in a shelter, pound, or rescue. Plan on paying at least 2-3 times as much per year on vet visits for what you would with a different breed!

Yes, Shar Pei fever is another common ailment of the breed- sorry to hear that you lost yours to it. I'm glad you know about the breed though- so many end up in shelters because they looked cute, until people figure out all that is involved with owning a Shar Pei. Again, if you are willing to consider it, I do suggest seeking out a Shar Pei rescue in the UK and save a life. It makes the passing of your last pet a bit more meaningful if its passing results in a another life being saved, in my opinion. Good luck to you!
