Is my dog an Akita/Shar Pei mix?

I adopted my dog Daisy from a local pound about a year ago and they told me she is an Akita/Shar Pei mix. I don't agree though, because she's now fully grown and weighs about 35 to 40 pounds (female Akitas, I read, are anywhere from 75-100 lbs). I have suspicions that she is some sort of mix with either shiba inu, german shepard, or nowegian elkhound…

I would say that she is an Akita/Malinois mix.I don't see any Shar Pei at all.

Here is an Akita/Malinois mix that looks more like an Akita, but you can see two Malinois in the fenced area in the video.

i see the German Shepherd you suspect as well. She is small so it would seem she would be mixed with something else besides the 3 breeds you suspect.
By the way, she is gorgeous!

Shar peis are small dogs- so a mix between these breeds would most likely produce a pup that was much smaller than a full grown Akita.
However- looking at these photos- there is no way that that is what your dog is! The face is too long (Shar Peis have a very round, chunky head, and so do Akitas) for starters- and she has none of the mass I would expect with a mix of either of these breeds.
I dont think she is part Akita or Shar Pei, myself.
I think youre much closer on the mark- with your thoughts that she might be Shepherd, Norwegian Elkhound type dog.
Maybe even Belgian Malanois x.

In the first picture I would agree with the akita/shar pei, but the second picture I see more german shepard….hmmm….I think more toward the german shepard akita mix. We used to have a male akita and he was only about 50-60 pounds full grown

OH shes beautiful!!! I don't really see the breeds you mentioned in her… Though I may be totally wrong! She does look like she could have some Akita in her, though it may also be Malinois? Remember that although Akitas are very large dogs, Shar Pei's are a fair bit smaller, and with a mix, you never really know the size they will turn out - esp. if the parents are a med/large mix.
LOVE that cuddle photo! Shes gorgeous!

At first glance she looks almost like an undersized Malinois, so I'd bet there's some sort of shepherd (Belgian, German) in there. The curved tail seems to indicate some sort of akita/shiba-ish dog. She might be an akitaxshepherd, as you suspect (google akita shepherd, you'll notice some pictures look quite similar to her).

I agree with the lack of shar pei in her lol. In the first picture she has the face structure of a basenj! I personally think. But certainly not the coloring. I agree with the malinois strongly. Although the second picture screams shepherd. Whatever the case may be, she's lovely!

She's a gorgeous dog, that's for sure:)

But she is not Shar Pei. She lacks every Shar Pei feature, except the curly tail.

Based on her size, I doubt that she is Akita, either, but she does share some of the Akita features.

She looks more like Malinois, German Shepherd, or possibly Shiba Inu which would account for her small size.

If I had to guess, she looks like a mix of German Shepherd or Malinois and Pit Bull.

your dogl ok like part of basenji breed cause it has the same type of curlied tail and face and long legs like it and she alos look part of malinois belgian shepherd because same eyes, muzzle and ears .

Well firstly good on you for adopting a shelter dog! :)
The pound definitely got it wrong, a Shar Pei/Akita mix would be a very chunky dog. Your Daisy is the exact opposite!

She looks a lot like a Belgian Malinois,

I would say a Mal/Norwegian Elkhound mix.
