How much is my shar pei puppy supposed to be eating a day?

He is about 31 pounds, and 4 and a half months old.
On the bag of food, it says up to 2 cups for his weight and age..but im confused if thats 2 cups a day or 2 cups each time (morning & night) = 4 cups.

I'll prob call my vet, but does anyone have a shar pei at that age/weight?
